Safety Relief Valves
Safety valves are manufactured in accordance with the API 526 standard, in the desired type and quantity, in accordance with customer requests, and are supplied as certified.
A safety valve is a type of valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system. Pressure is relieved by allowing pressurized liquid or gas to flow through an auxiliary channel leaving the system.
The safety valve is designed or set to open at a predetermined pressure to prevent pressure vessels and other equipment from being exposed to pressures exceeding the design limits. When the set pressure value is exceeded, the spring mechanism is activated and part of the fluid is directed along the auxiliary path. The gas or liquid-gas mixture) is directed onto an elevated flare of gas through a piping system commonly known as a flare hood or recovery hood, and the resulting combustion gases are released into the atmosphere.
